Sin is the Symptom

Sin is the symptom it isn’t the problem or virus. When you find out why a person is sinning you will have more compassion for them and be able to help better. God showed Jonah why the people of Nineveh were sinning. Jonah 4

False Security

If you are security in anything this world has to offer besides Christ then you are living in False Security. The only security that is truly safe is in God alone.

Come Back to the Lord

In my previous devotion I talked about how God is running after us but we have a role to play and that is to turn and run back to God. If we don’t then there is no relationship it is just God running after us with us running away. Today’s devotion is all about returning to a loving, compassionate, forgiving God.
Joel 2

Relentless Lover

Talking about the prophet Hosea who God told to marry a prostitute named Gomer. When Gomer ran away the Lord told Hosea to go get her back. What He did for her will blow your mind. and just as Hosea went after Gomer the Lord relentlessly pursues us because he loves us and sees something in us we don’t see in ourselves
Hosea 3

Your Testimony

Only 8 more devotions to write! I AM SO CLOSE!!! But in the mean time I had to share this devotion I wrote today! I love when I am writing that God is teaching me so much! So good! Thank you Jesus for this lesson!!!power-of-your-testimony

Yesterday we talked about Satan being the accuser of the brethren or followers of Jesus. We also discussed that you need to remember that your sin was covered in the blood of the Jesus. The passage we talk about today is right after the verse from yesterday. This verse for the day is the perfect reminder and encourager of how to overcome the accusations of Satan:

They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

– Revelation 12:11 (NIV)

The “him” that the believers triumphed over was Satan himself. The only way to have victory over the devil is by the blood of Jesus over your life and over your sins. You also have power of victory by your testimony of what God has done in your life.  Did you know that your testimony is powerful? When you speak to others about what God has done in your life it gives you strength. I remember there was a person in my life that kept telling me the same stories over and over again about what God had done for them. I wanted to stop them and let them know they had already told me that story. But the Lord stopped me and told me that it boosted their faith every time they told those stories of what Jesus had done in their life.

So not only does it strength the person that is telling the testimony but it makes those who are listening stronger as well. So many times I have heard someone tell me what God did in their life and it increases my faith and helps me to believe God in a way I didn’t before. There is a Christian speaker named Shawn Bolz that I heard one time preach about how if God does it for one person it can do it for you. That really stuck with me, so now when I hear someone tell me something amazing God did in their life I think, “If God did it for them then He can do it for me to.” I heard about a person who was given a house free of charge. That God opened the door and the owner gave their house to this person. That is when I thought, “If God did that for them then he can get me a house free of charge as well.” I have lived in two houses rent free and I am believing God for someone to give me a house for me and my family to live in since we are trusting the Lord and walking in obedience.

Don’t you see the enemy knows how powerful your testimony is so he tries to keep you quiet by saying things like, “No one wants to hear what you have to say” or “You will sound stupid if you tell that story” or “That story isn’t really exciting others have had much more exciting stories about Jesus in their life”. You know what you need to do, tell the devil to shut his mouth and you need to open your mouth because someone needs to hear what the Lord has done in your life.

Have you told others about things God has done in your life? Have you shared your testimony with people who are in your life?

Praying for a New Heart

The verse we talk about today is a perfect prayer to pray for a new heart. Not only can you pray this prayer over yourself but over others. “Lord remove my heart of stone and give me a heart of flesh”
Ezekiel 36

Even if People Listen or Not

If you spend any time with Jesus He will start putting people on your heart to speak to. Here is the deal God wants you to know it doesn’t matter if they listen to you or not. Your job is obedience. God’s job is results. He still wants to give them a message even if they listen or not . WHY BECAUSE HE LOVES THEM and is a relentless lover and cares for his creation!!!
Ezekiel 2

Our Compassionate God

In the middle of Jeremiah lamenting over Judah and Israel’s sin, their captivity, and how they turned from God Jeremiah had this realization just how amazing God was. His compassion, his mercies and his faithfulness.

Junk to Treasure

God is in the business of turning out Junk to treasure. He can take the ashes of our lives, the mourning we are going through, and the heaviness we feel and give us beauty, joy, and praise. Don’t you want to give your trash/junk to God well then I think you need to watch this video!

Devotion:Seem Eager to Know God’s Ways

I think as people we are pretty good as seeking God’s ways, counsel, advice, and guidance. We get that God knows more than us and we don’t have all the answers. But we we stink at is following through. When we hear what God has to say we still do it our own way. And that my friend is when you “SEEM” eager to know God’s ways.
