Junk to Treasure

God is in the business of turning out Junk to treasure. He can take the ashes of our lives, the mourning we are going through, and the heaviness we feel and give us beauty, joy, and praise. Don’t you want to give your trash/junk to God well then I think you need to watch this video!

Devotion:Seem Eager to Know God’s Ways

I think as people we are pretty good as seeking God’s ways, counsel, advice, and guidance. We get that God knows more than us and we don’t have all the answers. But we we stink at is following through. When we hear what God has to say we still do it our own way. And that my friend is when you “SEEM” eager to know God’s ways.
Isaiah 58:2

Devotion: Useless Idols

God had the prophet Isaiah rebuke the people for handcrafting idols and worshiping them. Yet not much has changed since then only now we craft idols in our heart. Isaiah 44

Walking by Faith in the “Real World”

This morning as I was paying for Joel’s school books for the last time I was in awe how God has provided everything we have needed over these past almost 4 years. I have walked by faith trusting God for everything for a decade when we were missionaries. Living on Ships, or living in a warehouse, or living with a friend of ours. God provided for the ministry as well as our personal needs. But when God told us to leave the mission field for Joel to go to school and me to write books and be a Mom, we still had to walk by faith. The Lord told us not to get a full time job or even part time job outside of school or being a Mom. That meant we had to trust God for our electrical bill, gas, internet bill, phone bill, and food ever single month. Support from others for Joel and I decreased which we already knew, I mean come on we weren’t missionaries any more. But we still had to trust that if God told us to only go to school and stay at home then He would supply everything we needed.
Over the past four years God has provided two incredible houses, free of charge, for us to live in. Two cars to drive, both free of charge when given to us. God has always had our fridge and cupboards full, gas in our vehicle, and bills paid on time. If that wasn’t a stretch to walk by faith in, God also paid for all of Joel’s tuition and we are not in debt. And for the most part we pretty much only had a 100 dollars in our bank account most of the time. God would bring in almost the exact amount of finances for the need we had on hand each and every time. Even today as I paid Joel’s school books for the last time I found out we had money from a gift card we got a year ago on amazon and then someone had given Joel a gift card for amazon this Christmas so because of those two gift cards we only had to pay $12 for all of Joel’s books. I was in awe that once again God provided everything we need to get Joel his supplies for school. I have seen God do this when we needed gas in our car, where we didn’t have enough and yet within a day the Lord would send money for fuel. I have seen this with our bills where a bill was due in a week and we didn’t have enough but with in a day or so money would come in and we had just enough to pay it.
Time and time again over these past 4 years God has been showing me how He is truly faithful no matter if we were missionaries or lived in the “real world”. The Lord has been revealing to me that he has kept our finances at just enough to prove that He is the one and only one that knows our needs and takes care of them whether it is putting us on someones heart or a guy telling Joel he has some projects that need done and will pay him or whatever avenue the Lord chose to bring in money.
God gave me this verse from Deuteronomy 8 where he was about to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land but wanted to remind them what He did in the wilderness: Remember how the Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands. 3 Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. 4 For all these forty years your clothes didn’t wear out, and your feet didn’t blister or swell. 5 Think about it: Just as a parent disciplines a child, the Lord your God disciplines you for your own good.
I share this to encourage you that God is a faithful, loving, kind, gracious, providing God. If you rely on Him He will provide all you need whether a job, healing, finances, food, bills paid, relationships stored, deliverance and more. That God is not limited and He loves you so much that He wants to be your everything!

Devotional: Door Or Wall (Attitudes on Sex)

There are two kinds of attitudes you can have about sex before you get married. The wall point of view or the Door point of view. In this video I talk about what those two mean and how I wish someone would have told me all of this while I was dating.

Devotion: Intense Kind Of Love

This kind of love that Solomon talked about hits the hammer on the nail. I am a super hopeless romantic and I say yes and amen to everything he said in this verse of the day. I want and work to have a love for my spouse like Solomon Described

Devotion: Don’t Awake Sexual Hunger Before Marriage

When we have sexual encounters for the first time it awakens a hunger and thirst for sexual things and if we do that before marriage then we will try to satisfy it with things that will hurt, damage or produce baggage in our lives. That is why Solomon said “Do not awaken or arouse Love before it so desires” Do not awaken these sexual hungers before you get married.
Song Of Solomon 2

I have been writing a devotional book and I had to share with you this particular devotion about being comforted by God and then you are able to comfort others the same way the Lord was there for you!

Day 258
Comforting Others

He (God) comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
– 2 Corinthians 1: 4 (NLT)

I love this verse so much in that first God longs to comfort us. When we are hurt, broken hearted, down, depressed, and mourning God is there to comfort us if we allow Him to. I remember being 15 and having the first guy I ever loved break up with me. I was so angry at God that I told the Lord I didn’t want anything to do with Him anymore. Months into my broken heart I was lying in bed crying when I felt these arms wrap around me. They were strong, warm, and comforting. I didn’t realize it was God who was doing it so I freaked out and started crying harder thus rejecting what the Lord was trying to do in my life. I wish I had known then the Lord was hurting with me and wanted to bring His peace and wisdom into my situation.

Years later I surrendered my life to Jesus and I have been comforted by God many many many times. He has walked me through painful situations by bringing peace and understanding. When I have come out on the other side of my pain healed and restored the Lord brings other people in my life that are going through similar situations I have faced. God nudges me to comfort them just as He did me. There was a time I didn’t understand why the Lord wouldn’t just comfort them directly himself but I began to realize that they didn’t know how to allow God to comfort them just like I didn’t get God was trying to comfort me when I was 15. After I understood this I was able to not only comfort them but point them to the Lord who wanted to help them walk out the pain or hurt they were going through.
There are things God has walked you through that were hard, hurtful, and painful. Because you had a relationship with the Lord you were able to allow him to help you heal and be comforted. Not everyone will have that because of their lack of understanding of God. There will be people that will remain broken, hurt, and disappointed if you don’t comfort them and point then back to the Lord. God wants to use you to bring healing in people’s lives.
This may sound very intimidating but all you have to do is listen to what God is telling you and walk them through just as God did for you. You don’t have to have an education in psychology to help others. Your experience is education enough to recognize where a person is at and comfort them in their time of need.

Is there someone in your life God wants you to comfort because of what you have been through? Do you make yourself available to God to use you to comfort others just as He has comforted you in your life?

Devotion: Can’t Get Away with “IT”

Every deed we do good or bad will be judged by God. This can be both comforting and scary. In this video I talk mainly about the bad, evil, sinful deeds that are done and how you can’t get away with them.
Ecclesiastes 12

Devotion: Don’t Take to Heart What People Say

I love this verse that you should take what everyone says to heart. I wish someone would have told me this when I was growing up because I believed that any criticism of me had at least an ounce of truth in it and I need to change according to people’s opinion of me. But can I tell you there is another way
